Trans-Asia Celebrates 33 years
Trans-Asia Shipping Lines, Inc. celebrated its 33rd Foundation Anniversary last March 25, 2007 in a week-long activity marked with free dental and eye clinic to its employees and their extended families starting March 19, 2007. The annual blood letting program was rated a success by the Philippine National Red Cross, Eastern Visayas Regional Blood Center based in Cebu City. A total of 14,850 cc of blood was collected from among the blood donors at Trans-Asia Shipping Lines.
The weekend activities was started with mangrove tree planting at 6:30 in the morning in coordination with DENR/CENRO and the Local Government Unit of Barangay Colon, Naga, Cebu. A total of 5,000 mangrove seedlings were planted at the designated area consisting of one (1) hectare reserved for mangrove tree planting of the company based on the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources/ Community Environment and Natural Resources Office in Cebu and the Local Government Unit of Barangay Colon, Municipality of Naga, Cebu which was signed by the parties during a short program right after the mangrove tree planting activity. At Trans-Asia, we believe in giving back to Mother Earth as part of our corporate social responsibility.
Capping the weekend was the celebration of the Annual Family Day of the company at Tubod Flowing Water Resort in Minglanilla, Cebu starting with a Holy Mass officiated by the Rev. Msgr. Esteban Binghay and followed by an afternoon of fun, food and camaraderie under the sun.
