<p>Trans-Asia Shipping Lines, Inc. deploys its latest addition to the fleet, the MV Trans-Asia 5 in Cebu to Cagayan link. MV Trans-Asia 5 is the largest and the fastest newly acquired vessel of the company. With its cruising speed of 16 knots, sailing Cebu to Cagayan waters will be at a mere 9 hours only. MV Trans- Asia 5 will leave Cebu Port at exactly 8:00 o’clock in the evening and will arrive Cagayan before 5:00 o’clock the next morning. Its passenger accommodation and amenities on board are perfectly designed and conceptualized to deliver the promise of a new level of comfort and pleasure of travel.</p>
<p>Set to serve Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, this magnificent passenger and cargo vessel has a twin cargo deck and can accommodate a total of 722 passengers.   This 2 stroke single low speed engine 9600 horsepower vessel is equipped with computerized monitoring system that can distinguish main and auxiliary engines and its accessories abnormalities accurately through pneumatic, electronic sensor system and safety alarm warning device.</p>
<p>Spacious and roomy are apt descriptions that come across your mind upon boarding MV Trans-Asia 5. 2nd class non-aircon accommodation and tourist sections have been designed with the passenger’s ultimate comfort in mind. MV Trans-Asia 5 offers above industry standard bunk size of 3 x 31 x 78 inches for more body space and leg room than you would ever expect!  Tourist accommodations are designed with Trans-Asia’s trade mark cabin type tourist section with individual curtain covers as well as individual reading lamps, hand rails and flat screen TV’s per section.</p>
<p>Cabin rooms have been designed with families and barkadas in mind. Each cabin rooms sport single bed bunks with own toilet and bath and equipped with flat TV’s.  Presidential suites come with their very own 32 inch LCD TV and DVD player coupled with our extensive library of DVD movies for complete viewing pleasure. A private toilet and shower is equipped with heaters for a comfortable bath. For any concerns, you can call from your room’s intercom directly to the duty Hotel Officer.</p>
<p>MV Trans-Asia 5 is all about space, comfort and pleasure. For those on the go who would like to relax and feel energized, we have our in-house spa service by TESDA-trained masseuse from Cool Waters offering manicure, pedicure, hair spa, reflexology and whole body massage with prices at par salons. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At least 10 college freshmen will receive full scholarship following the signing last June 5 of the Memorandum of Agreement of partnership by Trans-Asia Shipping Lines and University of Cebu (UC) to grant scholarship to aspiring marine engineering students.</p>
<p>	Applicants must pass the UC qualifying exam with an average grade of 80 percent during high school. They will also undergo interview by the board of Trans Asia.</p>
<p>	Scholars will receive full tuition, miscellaneous and textbooks subsidy from Trans-Asia for the first two years in school, and a year of apprenticeship in the company. They will also have free tuition during their fourth year.&nbsp; They will also be assured of employment after graduation. Under the terms and conditions of the scholarship, they will have to serve Trans Asia for five years providing they pass the board exam.</p>

Where industry standards dictate 2 x 24 x 72 inches of bunk space, MV Trans- Asia 3 offers above industry standard bunk size of 3 x 31 x 78 inches. That’s more body and leg room than you would ever expect!</p>
<p>Tourist accommodation is designed with Trans-Asia’s trade mark cabin type tourist section with individual curtain covers for one’s privacy. Those opting to take the upper bunks can also grab hold of our designed hand rail for a safe climb. Outlets are also provided in each bunk so you can charge your electronic gadgets right there and then. Top this off with individual reading lamps as well, giving one the experience of cabin accommodations at a tourist class price level!</p>
